Aluminium 5083 Flat Bars contain aluminum (balance), with 4.0-4.9% magnesium, 0.4-1.0% manganese, silicon (0.4% max), iron (0.4% max), copper (0.1% max), and zinc trace amounts (0.25% max), and chromium (0.05-0.25%). They exhibit excellent mechanical properties, such as 275-350 MPa tensile strength, 125-200 MPa yield strength, and 10-20% elongation, depending on the temper of the bars for high corrosion resistance, especially in marine environments, with good weldability and fatigue only. Their combination of strength, style and lightweight nature makes them ideal for applications in ships, automotive and pressure vessel applications.
